Serious Games

Serious Games are for players who want to push the strategy and thinking of the game.

They are only available from level 5. Once this level is reached, a tab will be visible above the list of games allowing to change the type of games displayed. A player below level 5 can still access a Serious Game via the game link.

Specific Rules

In Serious Games, the same rules apply as in the Fun Games, but other more strict common sense rules promoting fair play are also added. Here is the list of rules exclusive to the Serious Games:

Unveiling

Revealing one's own role as well as clues that could lead to guessing it is forbidden. False reveals are also forbidden.

Caution! It is possible to confuse a defense with an unveiling.

Here are a few examples of unveiling:
I am a the Seer: This is an unveiling by its pure definition.
I protect someone: This example implies a protective role such as Hunter, Guard or Witch.
My role is useless: This example implies a role without power or information, such as the Simple Villager or Red Riding Hood.
If I die, you die too: This example refers to the role of the Hunter.
On the game, I can be called Kim Jong Un: This example uses the name of a well-known dictator to reveal his role as Dictator. The moderation team does not recommend this usage due to the potentially offensive content.
My role is useful at night: This example implies roles mentioned at night such as Witch, Seer, Necromancer, etc.
When you answer a dead person just as day breaks: This implies that you are a Necromancer.
(ง -_・) ︻デ═一: This symbol portrays a rifle shot, so it's understood to be an unveiling of the Hunter role.
The same applies to certain emojis such as : 🔮 (Seer) 🔫 (Hunter) 🧙🏼‍♀️ (Witch) 💀 (Necromancer) 👁 (Little Girl).

To offer a good defense, you first need to understand that Wolfy is generally based on a voting system.

The first round, day or night, is mainly used to gather information, including:
spot the Talkative Worlf.
identify inactive players (afk) at night;
determine which players are most discreet during the day;
spot those who prefer to divert attention to an offside subject;
witness the first attacks such as "first votes" (fv)
validate the day's votes to determine if any are suspicious.
observe those who counter-attack or have no arguments to justify their innocence.

Hence, it is possible to assert your defense based on words spoken in-game or on votes cast during the day.

Here are a few examples of defenses:
I've always voted for wolves, so I'm safe: This is the most common example.
My messages in previous rounds don't include chatty words: This example works when accusing a Chatty Wolf.
I find this player rather discreet, so he seems suspicious_: This example is designed to divert attention to another player.
I accused the Black Wolf first: This example shows that you're not being anti-game, since if you're a Wolf and you denounce your peers, it's an anti-game act, with a few exceptions.

Unveiling the infected players

It is forbidden to reveal the players contaminated by the Sick Rat
It will be necessary to direct the vote on the non-contaminated players in a subtle way without indicating clearly that they are not contaminated and thus potentially Sick Rat.

Dictator in the first round

Using your Dictator power in the first round is forbidden.

If there is no strategy to use your Dictator power on the first turn. The player has no information about the game and the odds of killing a Werewolf are negative.

However, in some cases, there may be a strategic issue in the first round:
When the Dictator is in a relationship with the Seer, and she reveals the identity of a Werewolf to him.

Death Potion in the first round

If there is no strategy to use his death potion in the first round. The player has no information about the game and the odds of killing a werewolf are negative.

However, in some cases there may be a strategic issue on the first turn:
When the Witch is infected on the first night and uses her potion to kill an innocent person.
When the Witch is in a relationship with the Seer, and she reveals the identity of a Werewolf to him.

Ninja votes

In Serious Games, unjustified ninja votes are forbidden because they generally do not allow any reflection after the vote.

However, there may be circumstances where reflection is not necessary:
When a Werewolf votes an innocent person to benefit his or her side.
When the couple votes another player to win together.
When the Sick Rat votes an uncontaminated player to win alone.
When the Mercenary votes his target in the first round.

Werewolf Votes

As a Werewolf, it is forbidden to cast a vote on another Werewolf (day or night). However, there are cases where there is a strategic interest in saving the rest of the team:
When the Wolf has been explicitly discovered by the village.
When the Talkative Wolf makes no effort to place his word (e.g., to place "palm tree", the player simply says "palm tree").
When a wolf is in a pair with an innocent person, the wolf can vote for another wolf first.
When all Werewolves, including the sacrificed Wolf, have agreed to this strategy.
When the vote lasts less than 15 seconds and is intended to confuse the issue.
When you are condemned to die (example: you have all the votes of the village on you while there are only 15 seconds left to vote). You can then vote for an allied wolf with the sole purpose of covering your tracks.
When a player who has voted for a Wolf is infected with the Black Wolf. He can then continue to vote for the Wolf he accused the day before in order not to appear too suspicious.

As a Werewolf, it is forbidden to try to kill the White Wolf at the beginning of the game (day or night). It is an allied wolf which is an advantage to kill more villagers at the beginning of the game. It is possible to try to kill it from a later stage of the game: the one where the gap between the Wolves and the village is negligible.

Mentalist's intuition

The Mentalist cannot reveal whether the vote is going well or poorly.
He must find a way to make himself understood without indicating that he is a Mentalist. If he plays well and is consistent in his actions, he will manage to win the game.

Inactivity

Inactivity in a serious game is automatically punished by a one-hour ban.
Players using this mode of play are looking for reflection, and the balance of their game is paramount.

When you join a serious game, make sure you have the capacity to actively participate in the game (by getting involved in debates), and the time you need to finish it.
